This Month on The Homesteadista
The Self-Help that Actually Helps
(Letter from the Editor)January is not my favorite month. It's generally cold and wet and it takes me a couple of weeks to get into the habit of writing the new year correctly. But like most beginnings, the start is not always full of grace and joy.
Sometimes these restarts are reboots - meaning, we have to begin again from scratch to get not only results, but to simply get things up and running. January is also the time when perhaps still buzzed under the boozy illusions of living according to the status quo (or a reality TV checklist) we enter our year long march into "betterness" and self-improvement without all of our gear. Or a proper cup of coffee. Last year was a doozy and while technically we have transitioned into a new realm, a moment of silence and reflection might be required to move forward with enthusiasm, stamina, an accurate GPS setting and the clarity not to repeat the same mistakes from 2016 (while being mindful of the big life lessons they may have revealed).
Let's move purposely in the directions that really align with who we are at the core so our self help actually helps; helps ourselves but not ourselves alone.
