WOULDA COULDA SHOULDA. DID.
The past couple of months have been hectic ones. The end of the school year, being knee deep in grant cycles, sourcing amazing women to profile, and expanding our team has keep me going strong and often running on almost empty. Call it grit, persistence, a neurotic case of responsibility, or a type A personality, I was in it (it being the flow, the circumstance, the season), to win it. Speaking of wins, I had a few - the opportunity to present at a health justice conference in Philadelphia, an invitation to train in #RUNASYOUARE, and meet some amazing women including the Executive Director of The Feminist Press (a rock star woman of color) and the founders of the #saveourmoms campaign (and they are not MTV execs, by the way - more of that to come later). During this push forward and outward, I continually "checked" myself. Was this the right path, the right move, the right decision? Sometimes I hit the mark and other times, I missed. Just a bit;) While I didn't play safe, I did play fair and with integrity. So sideways or backdoor agreements. No cheating. Even when no one was looking. And while the past couple of months may have felt like the longest race I've had to run, I did it. My way.
