I rarely look out the window when I fly. In fact, I've gotten into the habit of requesting the aisle seat so I can get up and pee whenever I need. My father was a paratrooper and while I fancy the idea that we share the daredevil gene that would motivate someone to say sky-dive, I find looking out into the vastness of the big blue sky to be as overwhelming as being out on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean. I like being on land. Perhaps because my lifestyle has so many varied elements, I find myself lately wanting to be a bit more grounded.
Last week was a doozy. The holiday, the jetlag and the end of the Homestead Project Challenge - all in 7 days. Whew! And this week, I return to Asia for another conference. I didn't even unpack my suitcase from the last trip. Simplicity, efficiency, or laziness? One of the features of the HPC involved examining work and family.
