A small, welcoming environment where people can gather, pause, and return—bringing beauty, nature, and connection into everyday neighborhood life.

About We3 Gardens

We3 Gardens is a family-led, neighborhood-based effort to transform underutilized lots into living green spaces that invite participation, care, and connection.

Each site is designed as a small, accessible environment—shaped through everyday use, light stewardship, and community presence.

The Poetry Parklet is the first iteration of this work, serving as a starting point for a growing network of spaces across West Philadelphia.

How The Space Works

Pollinator plants
Native flowers that support bees, butterflies, and urban wildlife—bringing life and movement into the space

Flowers for the block
Seasonal blooms and greenery that brighten the street and draw people in.

Edible growing
Small-scale vegetables and edible plants that show how growing can fit into everyday life—whether in a garden bed, a container, or at home.

Poetry and storytelling
Words and creative elements woven into the space—inviting reflection, expression, and community voice.

Herbs and edible plants
Simple, fragrant plants that connect the garden to everyday use—what people can touch, smell, and grow themselves.
