POETRY PARKLET

A We3 Garden project.

A garden is growing here.

This vacant lot is being transformed into a small neighborhood garden with flowers, pollinator plants, and space to pause.

Poetry Parklet is part of We3 Gardens, a Haddington family-led effort to reimagine underused spaces as small, welcoming green places — bringing more beauty, nature, and neighborly connection to the block.

The garden will take shape through a mix of raised beds and container plantings, making it flexible and easy to care for over time.

Supported by a Feet First Philly grant and developed in partnership with PHS LandCare, the project explores how vacant lots can become gardens that support nature, creativity, and community care.

Planting begins in Spring 2026.

What We’re Creating

Here’s what you’ll find here:

Pollinator plants
Native flowers that support bees, butterflies, and other urban wildlife.

Flowers for the block
Seasonal blooms and greenery to brighten the street.

Herbs and edible plants
Fragrant herbs and simple plants that connect the garden to everyday life.

A place to pause
A small garden space where neighbors can stop, sit, and take a moment.

A little poetry
From time to time, you might find a line of poetry tucked into the garden — something to read while the plants grow.
